Planning

The planning help the teacher to guide the process of teaching . If the teacher knows the objective, this will facilitate the process, since the teacher knows where she wants their students to be at the end. In addition, Planning the lesson helps the teacher to prepare their activities before the class and to know the methods that she wants to use it that helps the students to meet the objective.  The objective should not be too specific or of low level of thinking like the students will be able to define, list, recall... Those doesn't teach the students the thinking. However, the objective should be of higher level like analyze, evaluate that depends on the knowledge but need more thinking.
Furthermore, the teacher should not be too specific in their planning because this will decrease from the discussion, also sometimes during the teaching the teacher modify their planning so the teacher should be flexible and should has a technique that when the students start asks questions that are far from the topic, she can bring them back in positive way.

  1. Every thing we want to do in life, we think about it before. So, planning is very important in real life as well as in teaching. Teachers who plan well communicate their objectives clearly to the students and know how to use the time in an effective way to reach those objectives. We should not forget as teachers that every time we plan, we should take into consideration the students needs and find ways that best adapt to those needs.

As we we learned planning is important not only prior to instruction but also we should plan for assessing our students. Plan how you will assess them, what to include in the assessment and how to interpret and evaluate their results.

  4. Planing ahead is very important when it comes to teaching. It allows the teacher to think about the material she will use in order to meet the students' needs, interests, learning styles, background experiences, and the learning targets. Teachers can learn from their previous experiences and modify to improve.

  5. A lack of clear, explicit objectives for a period time can lead to unfocused conversations, misspent time, and general confusion about the purpose of the period.

  6. Planning is the essence of teaching. If we want our teaching to be efficient then we have to carefully plan our lessons. Going to the classroom without a plan or with an unclear one causes a lot of troubles for the teacher and the students. For example, the teacher would be lost and wouldn't know what to do and consequently the students will start causing disciplinary problems.
